Gerald Jegal was born in Munich in 1991. He studied at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and then went on to study architecture at the Leopold Franzens University in Innsbruck.
There, he mainly focussed on parametric design processes and structural overlays of patterns. The symbiosis of digital and analogue media continues to play a central role in his designs.
These design strategies always pursued the goal of high-resolution assemblage and still represent the creative motivation for the artist.
Gerald Jegal shows with his installation "macula lutea" perspective distortions that make geometric objects appear in the "correct proportion". The "macula lutea" actually refers to a small area on the retina where the eye has the sharpest vision.
