Munich's largest interim cultural use

The KUNSTLABOR 2 is the continuation of a successful interim use project of the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art (MUCA)in which 50 artists transformed the vacant Tengelmann complex into a walk-in work of art in 2018/19.

In spring 2019, MUCA applied for Munich's largest interim cultural use project - the former health house on Dachauer Straße.

With almost 10,000 sqm of space on six floors and a further 6,800 sqm of outdoor area, the former health building offers space for a variety of concepts. In a multi-stage selection process, the city of Munich chose MUCA as a competent and reliable partner.

Within the one-year construction phase, the MUCA has transformed the old building into a new centre for art and culture. The project name "KUNSTLABOR 2" ties in with the great success of its predecessor.
