Veronika Grenzebach studied media art at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and then communication design at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich. Since graduating, she has worked as a freelance designer and illustrator.
Her focus is on the representation of femininity and confident women. Her sense of colour and visual poetry makes her style distinctive.
She grew up on a farm in the Munich countryside and has been inspired since childhood by nature, especially the surrounding flora and fauna, which she combines with an urban attitude to life in her works.
Our health system relies on a female workforce. Yet women are still rarely found in leadership positions. The artwork is a tribute to all those badass women who keep our health system running and moving forward through their strength, competence and manpower.
There are individual elements in symbolic reference to the health system, but also to the role of women within the artwork.
