Janina Steger, graphic designer and illustrator from Munich, designs the visual elements of the installation. She has been running her own studio Philografina since 2022, specialising in infographics and surface design. Her work combines creativity with structure,

What is Forum for Humour?

Forum Humor und komische Kunst e.V., an association founded in Munich in 2017, contributes the acoustic component of the space. The association, initiated by Gerhard Polt, is dedicated to promoting humour and comic art through a variety of activities such as the annual humour festival, discussion series and humour parcours.

Laughter is universal, an expression of joy, a moment of liberation and sometimes an unexpected enigma. It connects people, crosses borders and reminds us that doubts and insecurities are often fleeting.
The humour box brings this idea to life. Sounds of laughter fill the room. Laughing faces - of people, animals and fantastic creatures - adorn the walls, their expressions full of allusions and stories.
The laughter in the room can be infectious, cause uncertainty or give a feeling of lightness. The unexpected encounter with this phenomenon subtly challenges us to question our own perception.
In the end, one impression remains: laughter releases tensions, connects people and creates a moment in which everything seems lighter.
