The retrospective shows paintings and drawings by Richard Joseph Cull and celebrates his fine English humour, his colourful liveliness and his incredible life's work. All of this is reflected in his paintings, drawings and ceramics.
In 2002, he lost his right arm due to cancer and then began to paint his oil paintings with his left hand. This is why he has signed all his paintings created after 2001 with Culll. The third l in the name stands for "left".
Elisabeth Maria Cullborn Hauff in Munich, (91) ceramicist and sculptor, regularly gives courses in her own workshop in Lehel. She was formerly an art lecturer at the Munich Adult Education Centre for many years and also taught art at the International School. She mainly creates small clay sculptures.
Larger objects can be found in and on buildings, e.g. several frescoes in a small church in Italy. Ceramic door surrounds in Italy and Munich. Several designs and superstructures of tiled doors, as well as the design of the entrance and interior hall of the building for agriculture and forestry in Neumarkter Straße, etc.
Both artists work in a wide range of styles, including the abstract.
