What topics does the exhibition cover?

Through a playful and childlike point of view, Seth offers an immersive and poetic exhibition where you can discover his imaginary worlds. The exhibition includes several playful themes, including:

Marmaille-Strasse - or Rasselbanden-Strasse

Welcome to Paris, the artist's home town! Stroll through streets full of cheeky children playing and having fun away from their screens. The scenery comes entirely from Seth's imagination and was realised together with little artists who share their sketches of an ideal city.

This is where humour and poetry meet: a child on a ladder has his head in the clouds, fences with peepholes provide a view of murals that Seth has painted for the curious. Masked children open birdcages, while another plays hide and seek on the rooftops of Paris... Not to mention all the other mischievous children who transform the rooms of KUNSTLABOR 2 into a giant playground!

Around the globe

The exhibition opens up a journey of discovery into the universe of the artist Seth and takes visitors of all ages on his travels to all corners of the world.

Works shown in gigantic silhouettes of children's heads are reminiscent of his works and encounters with the children and adults of Madagascar, Java, Haiti, Ukraine and China. Traditional games played by children from each country accompany the large-scale murals.

 Raise your masks!

Seth's characters rarely show their faces. It's up to us to imagine them! They may hide behind masks, like any of us, to be someone else for a few minutes or hours - at carnivals, balls or sacred festivals.

What do you play?

Immerse yourself in the world of board games when you enter the House of Fantasy, where the works of Seth and the board games of our childhood enter into dialogue with each other.

A game of chess becomes a battle to be won, marbles turn into planets and a spinning top becomes a whirling dancer.

"Vortex" - the rainbow passage

Let yourself be carried away as you walk through a rainbow-coloured corridor - a vortex that symbolises the power of the imagination for Seth and appears in many of his works.

This secret path opens the door to a world of fantasy and wonder: word games come to life and the visitors' portraits merge magically with Seth's artworks.
