t =x- about the repetition of circles, sounds and lines

In her artistic work, Celia Meissner focusses on reduction, clarity and depth. She uses multimedia to create two- and three-dimensional spaces that invite you to immerse yourself in the work for a moment. Meissner's reduced graphic formal language and repetitive rhythms provide an insight into moments that serve as a haven of peace in a time of constant sensory overload. Repetition and immersion can be found in visual media such as drawing and sculpture, as well as in the acoustic compositions, which often surround the installations like an atmosphere of their own.

Cycles, circles, repetitions. From the beginning to the end, or from the beginning to the beginning? And what is in between? According to current knowledge, we assume that our universe is expanding endlessly. All matter and energy is distributed in an undefined expanse of space. At some point, all matter will have burnt up. There will be silence and emptiness. What if our universe existed in cycles? According to the "Big Crunch" hypothesis, at a certain point of maximum expansion, the universe collapses into several black holes, which combine to form a large black hole that swallows itself up. This would mean that the existing energy gathers again at one point, and when maximum energy has come together in minimum space, there is enough substance to explode and expand again as a big bang.

In the exhibition "t = x- about the repetition of circles, sounds and lines", Celia Meissner explores the idea of the cyclical universe. With the expansion and contraction of energy. A pulsation. Beginning with the depiction of the entire cycle, individual moments are then examined in more detail. Interpretations of moments on the timeline of the universe. Always as a visual and sonic experience. In contrast to the rapidity of the passing of moments, the working process of the drawings is one that requires slowness. In an almost meditative state, the images are composed of three-dimensionally drawn spheres. It is a repetition, both in the motif and in the movement. In the sculptures, excerpts from the cycle are shown on a room-sized scale. Viewers are given the opportunity to stand in the moment depicted. This is intensified by the tonal interpretation of the energy that is concentrated in the moment. The compositions are based exclusively on the artist's voice, as from her personal perspective her voice was the only appropriate instrument for this work that could translate the invisible but inherent energy. The exhibition invites you to let yourself fall into moments of slowness. To detach yourself from the everyday themes that accompany you, to let yourself drift through the works and to linger in the sound spaces. The theme has accompanied Celia Meissner since the beginning of 2023. The majority of the works will be presented to the public for the first time in "t =x- about the repetition of circles, sounds and lines".
