Meet the Artists: Gerald Jegal & Erik Mayer

This Sunday, 28 January 2024 between 2pm and 4pm, two artists will each present their new spatial installations. You can talk to Erik Mayer with Daniele Faggiotto and Gerald Jegal from the broke.today collective.

Gerald Jegal shows with his installation "macula lutea" perspective distortions that make geometric objects appear in the "correct proportion". The "macula lutea" actually refers to a small area on the retina where the eye has the sharpest vision.

The installation "Gentrification" by Erik Mayer is dedicated to an important aspect of urban development. Gentrification is the term used to describe the socio-economic structural change of metropolitan neighbourhoods through an increase in attractiveness in favour of wealthier owners and tenants and their subsequent influx. Daniele Faggiotto, also from the broke.today collective, assisted Erik Mayer with the realisation.
