Vernissage Soft Expansion

We cordially invite you to the vernissage of our new exhibition Soft expansion in the Pop-Up Gallery. Exhibiting: Nadja Kromer, Ikue Ohta, Jieun Park, Sumire Sakuma, Aleschija Seibt.  

The phenomenon of growth is based on the principle of expansion and we encounter it in many different ways in everyday life. The urge to expand seems to be intrinsic to all life. Nevertheless, biology shows that the process is also subject to limitations, as growth is not possible without decay and some things only develop to a fixed final size. Growth therefore moves in an ambivalent field of tension between expansion and retreat.
In nature, organic growth produces loose and variable forms that interlock and enable unexpected encounters.
This aspect is taken up in the Soft Expansion exhibition and brings different artistic perspectives on the multi-layered theme into dialogue through expansion.
