My statement against racism – Graffiti workshop with Marian Raha

12 July at 10.30 - 18:00

Have you always wanted to get creative with a spray can? Led by the artist Marian Raha, this workshop offers a fun way to learn the basics of stencil and graffiti art, whilst exploring the issue of racism. After an introduction to the basic techniques and fundamental knowledge of graffiti by the experienced workshop leader, you’ll have the chance to try your hand at spraying on a wall. You’ll then develop your own designs, which you’ll transfer onto your own canvas using stencils. At the end, you can take your own little graffiti artwork home with you. No prior experience is necessary.

The event is organised in collaboration with the Museum Fünf Kontinente.

The workshop will take place outdoors. Please wear clothes that can get dirty and covered in paint, and bring sun cream, something to drink and the consent form with you. Face masks will be provided.

Marian El Mohasseb (*2001) is a visual artist and art educator and has been studying art education and painting at the AdbK Munich since 2019. She explores her interest in pop culture, identity and the liminal nature of interpersonal violence through the hunting and collecting of digital images and painting. Her practice exists in the space between the internal and the external, always refracted through a critique of identity-forming systems.
