Clifford Chance's Arcus Pride Art Initiative aims to challenge perceptions and provoke thought and discussion through artworks that explore themes of relationships, sexuality, gender identity and expression, and the human body.

The last two years have reminded us all how important community is. Developments on LGBT*IQ issues have moved in different directions around the world. At the same time, the global pandemic has taken away many opportunities for us to spend time together and experience community, which is an essential part of equality. The year 2022 is an opportunity to come together and harness the power of inclusion - to capitalise on the experiences of the last two years and move forward together in support of our LGBT*IQ communities and their allies.

It is said that communities do not emerge by chance - we need to actively build and nurture them. The LGBT*IQ community has developed through the concept of 'coming out'. Our communities play an important role in creating physical and symbolic spaces where we can be ourselves without having to justify ourselves. This year, Arcus members and the community can reflect together on the importance of community as well as the importance of solidarity with each other. Arcus Pride Art 2022 aims to remind us of who we are, what inspires us, and celebrate what makes our community so unique.

This is reflected in the artistic works selected by KUNSTLABOR 2. They show how diversity and community are expressed in contemporary art - with particular emphasis on the search for one's own identity and a decisive statement about who we are.

"It is not enough to have values, we must stand up for them and be prepared to fight for them if they are to be realised."

Tiernan Brady, Global Head of Inclusion of Clifford Chance

Exhibiting artists: Aelita le Quement "Panty Paradise", Celia Renee Meissner, Giuseppe Fiore, Johannes Guevara, Lorand Lajos, Veronica Burnuthian "Panty Paradise", Volane.
