Between glamour and shadow, between appearance and truth - my works move where opposites meet. I create a field of tension from colour and structure: Light against dark, order against chaos, surface against depth.
The eye takes centre stage - as a symbol of seeing and not seeing. It observes, reflects, deceives, recognises. It stands for the attempt to look behind the smooth façade.
The exhibition is an exploration of opposites that are mutually dependent. No light without shadow. No rich without poor. No good without evil.
It is also a reflection of the city I come from: Munich - beautiful, clean, perfect. At least at first glance. But beneath the surface, another truth is revealed if you look closely enough.
These works do not invite you to simply look at them, but to pause for a moment. To question. To recognise that the beautiful only exists because the ugly is there.
