SPECIAL EXHIBITION „RUBBISH, MASKS & MYTHS“ I KUNSTLABOR2 & Museum Fünf Kontinente

An exhibition organised in collaboration with the Museum Fünf Kontinente and artists from KUNSTLABOR 2
17 October 2026 | Long Night of Museums | POP-UP Gallery at KUNSTLABOR 2
Entitled „Rubbish, Masks & Myths“ KUNSTLABOR 2 and the Museum Fünf Kontinente, in collaboration with artists from KUNSTLABOR 2, are presenting an exhibition that explores the themes of consumption, identity, social structures and the creative use of supposedly worthless materials.
The centrepiece is a sculpture by the Congolese artist Bestaguy Bayoka, which is on display at KUNSTLABOR 2 on loan from the Museum Fünf Kontinente. Bayoka He is known for his striking artworks and performances created from discarded materials, through which he draws attention to environmental pollution, global waste problems and social injustice. His work serves as a starting point for a dialogue between contemporary art, urban art and socially critical perspectives.
The exhibition is complemented by works by artists from KUNSTLABOR 2, who explore the themes of rubbish, masks and myths in various ways. This gives rise to individual artworks, installations and artistic interventions that open up new perspectives on social and cultural issues.
„Rubbish, Masks & Myths“ brings together a variety of artistic approaches and invites visitors to question familiar perspectives, rethink materials and experience art as an expression of social debate.
