„Open hearts – open minds!“: from Munich Cultural festival sets a precedent for Diversity and cohesion

With a major cultural festival centred on interaction, diversity and social cohesion, Munich to World Refugee Day a visible sign for Openness and Solidarity. Under the title „Open hearts – open minds!“ loading a wide Alliance from Munich organisations to the Refugio Art Workshop.

Background:

The World Refugee Day was launched by the United Nations in 2001 and has been held every year on 20 June ever since. The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) published on this occasion, its annual report.
By mid-2025, there were about 117 million people displaced, of whom 67.8 million are internally displaced and 36.4 million Refugees, who have fled war, violence and persecution. Around 8.4 million people were classified as asylum seekers.
